President

The President serves as the leader of the AIChE chapter, overseeing all club operations and guiding the executive board throughout the year. This role involves setting the overall vision for the organization, facilitating communication between board members, and ensuring that all events and initiatives align with the club’s mission. The President also represents the chapter in discussions with faculty, the university, and the national AIChE organization, making this a highly visible and influential position. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys leadership, strategic planning, and inspiring a team to achieve shared goals.

Vice President

The Vice President works closely with the President to help manage the chapter and support all major initiatives. They take on a flexible and collaborative role, assisting in planning events, coordinating between different board positions, and stepping in when the President is unavailable. The VP plays an essential part in ensuring smooth communication, solving day-to-day issues, and helping keep the organization on track.This role is perfect for someone who is organized, adaptable, and eager to support both leadership and teamwork.

secretary

The Secretary is responsible for maintaining organization and clear communication within the club. They take detailed meeting notes, maintain records, and review all email drafts before they are sent to the general membership. The Secretary also manages and updates the club website, ensuring that information is accurate and current. This position keeps both the board and membership well-informed and connected. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and enjoys creating systems that keep things running smoothly.

treasurer

The Treasurer manages all financial aspects of the chapter, including tracking spending, preparing budgets, and submitting reimbursement and funding requests. They ensure that the club remains financially responsible and can carry out its events and activities within budget. The Treasurer often works with student government or university offices to secure funding and is key to long-term financial planning. This role is perfect for someone who is responsible, good with numbers, and interested in budgeting and financial decision-making.

Internal Professional
Chair

The Internal Professionalism Chair focuses on executing professional development events, such as company meetings and facility tours. Responsibilities include booking rooms, arranging tech setup, preparing materials, and ensuring all logistics are handled so that events run smoothly and professionally. They also coordinate with visiting professionals and ensure that student attendees have a positive experience.
This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and enjoys creating polished, successful events.

External Professional
Chair

The External Professionalism Chair focuses on building and maintaining relationships with companies and industry professionals. They reach out to new companies to set up meetings and tours, follow up with existing contacts, and work to expand the chapter’s network of career opportunities. This role requires strong communication skills and an interest in professional development and outreach.
This role is perfect for someone who is outgoing, communicative, and excited to help peers connect with the industry.

Social Chair
(2 Positions)

The Social Chairs are responsible for planning and executing social events that build a strong sense of community within the chapter. They manage the club’s social media presence by posting weekly updates and promoting events. They also brainstorm, design, and order merchandise and posters for club visibility. The Social Chairs bring energy and creativity to the club, making it a more engaging and welcoming space. This role is perfect for those who are creative, energetic, and passionate about building connections and boosting club spirit.

Cheme Car
CaptAIn

The ChemE Car Team Lead oversees the team responsible for designing and building a small-scale, chemically powered car for AIChE’s national Chem-E-Car Competition. The car must travel a specific distance—announced just one hour before competition—using only chemical reactions for power and stopping. The Lead manages the project timeline, delegates tasks, ensures safety and compliance with green chemistry principles, and guides the team through both technical development and the required poster presentation. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, working on a team, and solving real-world technical challenges.

ChIP CaptAIn

The ChIP Captain leads the Chemical Engineering Introductory Program, a yearlong project aimed at giving freshmen and sophomores hands-on engineering experience. Members work together to design, build, and program a machine using Arduino kits, circuitry, and 3D printing, while also learning about budgeting, teamwork, and time management. The Captain organizes weekly meetings, assigns tasks, and mentors younger students as they explore engineering fundamentals in a fun and collaborative environment. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys mentoring, teaching technical skills, and helping younger students grow as engineers.
